How did ARC come about?

ARC Event Consultancy Ltd was established in Autumn 2012, following our senior roles at the London Olympic and Paralympic Games. We wanted to continue to work in major sports events whilst balancing the demands of raising young families.

Ten years later ARC has gone from strength to strength. We have been so lucky to work with amazing people on a diverse and exciting mix of major sport and charity events.  In recent years we have supported organisations with bids and feasibility studies to bring more events to the UK, as well as delivering training, lectures and workshops to spread the joy of events to more people.

  • Clare Hartley

    CO-FOUNDER

I’ve been working on major sports events since Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and I still love it. Having worked at Olympics, Paralympics, Commonwealth Games, World Cups and World Championships, I have a broad understanding of what it takes to put on sports events at the highest level.

I love the buzz and energy that sports events bring and am especially driven in the areas of women’s sport, disability sport and the positive social impact that major events can have.

Highlights of the last 10 years of work for me at ARC include visits to Tokyo and Lausanne, Special Olympics National Games and I have learnt so much working at Rugby League World Cup in Autumn 2022.

Other than work I love to run, hill walk, be outside, play netball, spend time with my family, travel and drink decaf tea.

  • Becs Leach

    CO-FOUNDER

After travelling and working abroad in Southern Africa, Spain and Japan, I started my professional events career at Cancer Research UK in 2004 setting up Race for Life / 10k events throughout the South of England, before joining London 2012 and heading up the Hyde Park Olympic Venue.

To continue my passion of working in events and juggling a young family, I persuaded Clare to set up ARC and haven’t looked back. I’ve loved the opportunities and flexibility our business has given us working with so many different organisations as well as supporting on bids to bring some major events to the UK.

If I’m not working, you’ll find me organising my next travel adventure with my family or thinking about what tasty treats we can cook & eat!  I also love a bit of netball and swimming (in a pool and open water!).
