ARC Event Consultancy was founded by Rebecca Leach and Clare Hartley who, together, have over 30 years’ experience of the UK and Worldwide events industry. They have hands on, relevant and up to date knowledge, and have been there and done it themselves.

Clare started her sports event career through her first job at the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Since then she has worked across major sports events for 17 years in senior management positions at Olympic, Paralympic, Commonwealth and Special Olympic Games. Having worked on mass participation fundraising events as well as for the government agency, UK Sport, Clare is at home working in complex, multi-stakeholder teams to deliver event outcomes that support the needs of local councils, national governments, private sponsors, charities, commercial landowners, sports governing bodies and international federations.
At London 2012 Clare led the planning processes for the central London venues and as Road Events General Manager led the planning and delivery of some of the largest and most complex events at the Games. At ARC Event Consultancy Clare has helped to deliver School Games, Special Olympics National Games, National and International Triathlons, cycling and running events, worked on bids and developed event plans and budgets for major sports events and loves the variety, challenge and people that she meets and works with in the sports events industry.
Becs travelled and lived abroad in Southern Africa, Spain and Japan before returning to the UK, where she started her career in managing events. Working at Cancer Research UK for 7 years she set up, planned and delivered over 40 different mass participation events (1000-20,000) across the UK in City Centres, Greenfield Sites and Stately Homes.
At London 2012, Becs was the Venue General Manager for Hyde Park (Triathlon and Marathon Swimming Events), leading a large diverse team through the operational planning stages and working with stakeholders throughout Central London to deliver these complex open events. During her four years at ARC, Becs has continued to work with British Triathlon, managing their control rooms for World Series events, and carrying out feasibility studies. She worked closely with the CEO from Special Olympics GB on 2013 Games and has led the planning of the 2017 National Games in Sheffield, as well as working on the senior management team of the School Games.
Becs is passionate about the work she does on sports events and brings her logistical mind to each new project. She has an eye for detail and loves working with different stakeholders and volunteers to make each event a resounding success.
Sarah has a background in primary teaching and has over 10 years’ experience of working with young people, education systems, safeguarding, and dealing with multiple people and priorities. Sarah has worked and volunteered at many sports events including Commonwealth Games, Race for Life and World Athletics Championships, has a great eye for detail and loves getting stuck in and making things happen.
Liz provides admin and marketing support to the team. She has worked within the fundraising industry for over ten years, from managing national direct marketing campaigns to organising local fundraising events for charity. She is happy leading or working as part of a team and can offer her planning and marketing / communication skills to an event. Results driven, Liz ensures she meets the client’s expectations, and more, every time.
